SURFEX 2010 Golf Tournament

The SURFEX 2010 Golf Tournament will be held on Monday 7th June 2010 at the   Oakdale Golf Course.  Tees have been reserved from 2.00pm.  Play will be in groups of three or four, Single Stableford, off full handicap.

This course is easy walking, on the north side of Harrogate a mere half mile from the Exhibition Centre. Click here for map and directions to Oakdale Golf Club.

Oakdale Golf Course is 6470 yards long, Par 71, SS 71 for gentlemen and 5513 yards long, Par 72, SS 72 for lady golfers.

Designer Dr Alister MacKenzie created a unique mix of moorland and parkland with no two holes alike. Built on a gently sloping site with the Oak beck running through, the course will appeal to all standards of golfers. Generous fairways and beautiful scenery abound. Just 10 minutes walk from Harrogate town centre Oakdale has an abundance of wildlife. Grey squirrels, roe deer and foxes are often seen. The Green Keepers have taken a great deal of trouble to introduce wild flowers into certain areas of the course.

In the past the club has hosted professional tournaments and at present hosts the prestigious Oakdale Acorn, a Yorkshire Order Of Merit event.

There are many interesting holes, the 10th and 14th being a fine test of golf but without doubt good scoring at Oakdale will require you to play the par 3’s well. The 6th is a 207 yard hole of great character, the 9th being the signature hole of only 153 yards presents a water hazard in front of the shallow green and the 12th a 181 yard hole having water again in front of the green.

To coincide with SURFEX 2010

You are invited to attend the “KALEIDOSCOPE Industry Dinner” on Tuesday 8th June 2010, which we have arranged to coincide with this year’s SURFEX event. Click here for Booking Form

The venue is now The Cairn Hotel, Ripon Rd, HG1 2JD in the heart of Harrogate.

The aim of this dinner is to provide colleagues and friends from the coatings industry with a long overdue networking opportunity, in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Invitations are open to everyone from within the Surface Coatings industry.

We guarantee a most enjoyable and memorable evening, encompassing an unmissable blend of fine wine, haute cuisine, musical entertainment and a charity fund-raising Fun Casino. Subsequently, we will arrange donations to two designated charities:'Teenage Cancer Trust' and 'Make a Wish Foundation'.

Tickets for the dinner are priced at the very reasonable price of £49.00 plus VAT each, and are available on a company or individual basis. The ticket price will also include ‘fun money’ to the value of £5.00 for play at the Fun Casino tables during the evening.

Festivities will commence with a drinks reception at 7.30pm for 8.00pm. Dress code for the evening is smart casual.
